There are two courses for firearms safety.
The Canadian Firearms Safety Course for Non-restricted rifles and shotguns and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course for Restricted firearms each have their own exams. Both exams are in the same format. Both exams have a written test and a practical session in which you have to demonstrate safe handling of several firearms in different scenarios.
